The Story of the Ford 7000
Launched in 1971, the Ford 7000 was the first mass-produced turbocharged tractor to be built in the UK. It answered the demand for more horsepower, a need that many farmers were expressing at the time.

This programme is all about the 7000 – how it came to be, what made it tick and what people thought of it. The story is told with original archive footage from the tractor's launch and with new film of examples still at work or in preservation.

The 7000 was also converted into a 4-wheel drive machine by the likes of County and Roadless, and so the 94T and 944 are part of the account.

The programme finishes by showing the legacy of the 7000 when it was replaced by newer models such as the 7600, 7700, 7610, 7710, 6810 and 7740. The concept of a turbocharged 94-97hp tractor had taken off to produce some of the most popular Ford machines of all time.

Ford & Fordson on Film 9 - The X Factor
This volume really does have the X factor; it concentrates on the 6X range of tractors and the huge investment Ford undertook in order to deliver the most comprehensive range yet. In the film ‘The Catalogue’, we look at the new series of tractors in fine detail but with a different slant. There are two Ford endurance films featuring the new 5000 in ’Faster by Ford’. ‘Quality Tells’ looks at the building and equipping of the Basildon plant which made it the tractor centre of the world and we also detail all the benefits of the American built Ford 6000 which was generally overlooked here in the UK.

Ford & Fordson on Film 10 - Full Force - 40th Aniverasary Edition
Very few tractors have dominated quite like the Ford 7000 in the 1970’s; an iconic tractor if ever there was one. It was designed and powered to use larger, more productive equipment. Forty years after its launch, Second Sight Productions have the films made by the Ford Film Unit at that time, complete and uncut. Along with the 7000 and the rest of the 6X range, we scrutinize the big Ford tractors including the 8600 and the mighty 9600 with its very impressive 145 horse power. All this, plus something slightly different – the rugged New Holland 339 double-chop forage harvester, pulled of course, by the powerful Ford 7000.

Decade of Evolution - Ford Series 10 Tractors - Part Two
Stephen Richmond and Jonathan Whitlam
Decade of Evolution the Story of the Ford Series 10 Tractors Part Two 1985-1991

Between 1981 and 1991 the Ford Motor Company produced one of its most successful tractor ranges ever – the Series 10.

The Tractor Barn film-makers have produced a pair of DVDs to celebrate this range.

In Part Two, presenter Stephen Richmond picks up the story in 1985 with the launch of the Force II range and all the developments that came with it. The Super Q cab took the range to new heights of modernity and operator comfort, and the range later expanded to take in the new 7810 model.
Stephen shows how the later Series 10 machines evolved until the 1989 launch of the Generation III models with more electronic monitoring and control. This was the final flowering of the range.

The film-makers use both recently filmed footage as well as specially selected archive films produced by the Ford Motor Company at the time.

The archive films include the launch of the Force II models, a look behind the scenes at the Ford tractor factories and a tour of the United States with the Ford Borehamwood Demonstration Team. A view of the workings of the ElectroLink electronic hydraulic controls on the 8210 III model brings the story up to the end of Series 10 tractor production in 1991.

In a special feature Stephen looks at the restoration of a Ford 7810 III and its continued use as a working machine.

Decade of Evolution - Ford Series 10 Tractors - Part One
Stephen Richmond and Jonathan Whitlam
Decade of Evolution the Story of the Ford Series 10 Tractors Part One 1981-1984

Between 1981 and 1991 the Ford Motor Company produced one of its most successful tractor ranges ever – the Series 10.
The Tractor Barn film-makers have produced a pair of DVDs to celebrate this range.

In Part One, presenter Stephen Richmond first sets the scene by looking at Ford tractor developments up to 1981 when the Series 10 was launched. He shows that the series embodied the company’s ideas up to that point as well as new features such as a synchromesh gearbox.

The bulk of the programme tells the story of the first Series 10 models as well as the later introduction of the flagship 8210 and other improvements up to 1984. The film-makers use recently filmed footage as well as specially selected archive films produced by the Ford Motor company at the time.

The archive films show factory shots of Series 10 development machines. You will see forage harvesting with the 7610 as well as a 7710 using a Ransomes push–pull plough during a Dutch ploughing marathon.

Archive footage showing the launch of the Series 10 compact tractors is yet another contribution to the story of this important tractor class.

Finally, Stephen looks at the restoration of an early Ford 6610 tractor from rusty used condition back to as good as new.

Tracks, Tyres and Skid Units Part 1 - Evolution 1917-64
The story of Ford Tractor Conversions Part One - Evolution 1917 to 1964

Conversions of Ford tractors have held a fascination for enthusiasts for many years. This programme, the first of two parts, delves right into the story of the conversions, looking at those built from 1917 to 1964 in chronological order along with each Ford tractor model that they were based on. From the Model F to the New Performance range, we get to see how the various manufacturers such as Chaseside, Muir-Hill, Roadless, County and Doe developed their products along with the Ford machine itself. This results in a unique look at these various crawler and four wheel drive tractors as well as just some of the various industrial machines. Archive and contemporary film of working examples draws together the story and brings the whole subject into close focus like never before!

Tracks, Tyres and Skid Units Part 2 - Pinnacle 1964-94
Part Two of Tracks, Tyres and Skid Units takes the story of Ford tractor conversions forwards from 1964 right up to 1994. As with Part One we take each Ford tractor model and look at what conversions were based on that particular model. This means that a comprehensive overview of these conversions builds in the actual order in which it happened giving a unique perspective on these superb machines. Four wheel drive conversions really steal the show in this programme as the new Ford 1000 Series 6X range arrives and numerous different conversions appear based on it and subsequent ranges, from companies such as County, Doe, Muir-Hill, Northrop and Roadless. The culmination is the big County 1884 which marks the last days of the conversion specialists, but the story does not end there as the Moffett MFT was based on the Ford 40 Series from 1991 and the rubber tracked Caterpillar Challenger 35, 45 and 55 machines were based on the Ford 70 Series that first appeared in 1994. This brings the story to a neat end and the two programmes tell the complete story from 1917 to 1994.

A special feature also looks at some of the smaller conversions built over the years such as drainage machines, tricycle conversions and other uses to which Ford skid units were put.

Using mostly recently filmed footage, this programme is a superb record of the Ford conversion story and certainly gives it a whole new perspective.

Farming Diaries Volume Four - True Blue
This programme follows through a year on a Lincolnshire smallholding where Mick and Jonathan Putterill are avid fans of blue Ford and Fordson tractors and have amassed a large collection over the years. But these machines are not idle showpieces, they have to earn their keep on the farm and are used with a fascinating array of period implements.
Following the seasons we see the various Fordson tractors at work including Dexta, Super Dexta and Diesel Major as well as New Performance Super Dexta and Super Major while the Ford 6X range is represented by a 3000 and 4000.
Newer machines include a 5600, 4600 and a 6600. We also see how some jobs are done on the farm by contractors such as spraying and combining, the new machinery contrasting markedly with the Putterill's own collection.
